Galway Arms

Last Saturday we went to the Basil Leaf Cafe for an excellent dinner (http://www.basilleaf.com/). After dinner, we decided to get drinks at the Galway Arms. The Galway Arms is one of our favorite places to go (except for the Lady Gaga incident circa December 2009). Once there, we decided to look at the dessert menu. Lo and behold, they had creme brulee! Brian was thrilled.

The creme brulee at the Galway Arms is a Guinness Creme Brulee. And it is not good.

Brian: overall, a half a star. It came out in the untraditional creme brulee dish. It looked like it had potential with a nicely burnt top (see picture left), but then I felt the top and knew it was going to be trouble. After one scoop in, I could see that the custard was not right. My initial reaction tasting was that it had been frozen and not all the way thawed. Others at the table thought that it was bread pudding and that they had accidentally brought out the wrong dessert.

Liz: for sure one of the worst creme brulees I have had. It gets 0/5 from me. To be fair, I love the Galway Arms: I love their veggie burger, their french fries and their salads. But this dessert was not good.

Now, onto House Hunters. HGTV, start at home.
